Meet Billy, a rough and tumble shrimp boat captain from Louisiana with a gritty exterior but a heart of gold.  When his oldest son, Tad, a Marine and a veteran of the Iraq War, returned home, he could not shake the torment of his mental war wounds.  In his desperation, he left home and was last seen living on the streets of New Orleans and rumored to be in danger in Mexico.  At the urging of his wife, Amy, Billy sets out to find his boy and bring him home. 

At its heart “The Return” is a book for all families, for many sons and daughters are prodigals.  While this is a story of a father going to all lengths to rescue his son, it is also a parallel story of God the Father pursuing His sons and daughters and paying the ultimate cost to bring us home.
